Young tech professional’s home features mobile panels and three-mode lighting system for work and play<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

S\u00e3o Paulo<\/strong> – A 62-square-metre flat in Cidade Mon\u00e7\u00f5es, in the Berrini area, has undergone a radical renovation that eliminated nearly all internal walls to create an integrated space. The FTX Flat project, designed by Fylo Arquitetos in partnership with interior producer Gabriela Almeida, meets the needs of a young technology market professional who also works as a DJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intervention demolished all partition walls, maintaining only those of the cloakroom and part of the en-suite. In their place, mobile joinery panels were installed that allow spaces to be separated or integrated as needed. The en-suite received a partial glass panel to ensure visual connection and better use of natural light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He was looking for an urban refuge that provided tranquillity and functionality amidst S\u00e3o Paulo’s hustle and bustle, without giving up a design that reflected his dynamic and contemporary personality”, explains Yuri, architect and partner at Fylo Arquitetos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customised automation system<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the main challenges was incorporating automation and high-performance sound systems without compromising the minimalist design. The electrical system was completely overhauled to accommodate lighting programmed in three modes: functional for everyday use, soft for relaxation and home cinema, and dynamic synchronised with sound, creating visual effects that follow the music’s beats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The furniture was designed by the practice itself without defining front and back, allowing use from both sides. The central table, for example, functions both for work and for organising turntables and records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Circulation and finishes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The circulation planning was organised in three parallel axes, connected by multifunctional “islands”. The same wooden flooring runs throughout the flat, whilst walls and ceilings received identical Velvet finish, reinforcing the project’s minimalist identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entrance hall features stretched canvas and steel rebar mesh, referencing S\u00e3o Paulo buildings with illuminated windows. In the integrated social area, which combines living room, kitchen and balcony, landscaping contrasts with the neutral finishes. The kitchen has S\u00e3o Gabriel granite with brushed finish and quartz island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The balcony, completely open to the view of Ponte Estaiada, incorporates a bar and fireplace with Limestone Baiteg Blue. The bedroom features a bed with boucl\u00e9 upholstered headboard and neon lighting with the phrase “Welcome to my delirium”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
