At 220 square meters in Vila Madalena, the space brings together furniture, lighting, architecture and art in an integrated experience

SÃO PAULO – Housed in a brutalist building designed by Isay Weinfeld, the first flagship of BONNI, the signature furniture and lighting brand of designer Erik Bonissato, was conceived as an extension of the atelier. The 220-square-meter space brings together a creative studio and exhibition rooms intended to provoke sensations rather than simply sell pieces.

BONNI: light, material and scale
Concrete and bold forms mark the architecture, which was preserved as a backdrop for BONNI’s pieces. The result is a sober atmosphere in which light, material and scale create an almost theatrical relationship with the furniture.

Bonissato leads creative direction alongside producer Tiago Cappi, with landscaping by Cate Poli. Trips to New York and Paris, cities that are part of his aesthetic repertoire, influenced how each piece of furniture is presented, with emphasis on forms, materials and details.

In an area near Alameda Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, one of the main hubs of design and decoration in São Paulo, the address combines proximity to the creative circuit with the privacy that guides the brand’s service.
Close attention to materials, construction processes and details guides how the complete portfolio is presented.
Architects, interior designers, producers, collectors, retailers in Brazil and abroad, and end clients find a place to discover and experience the brand’s universe, not just to buy. Each visit is individual and personalized, with the space reserved exclusively for that visitor.

“I wanted the flagship to have the atmosphere of a gallery, but without losing the essence of the comfort my design offers. The space needed to have presence but also to let the piece breathe. Isay Weinfeld’s architecture gave us a setting that is powerful and, at the same time, capable of enhancing the materiality of each object,” Bonissato said.

After consolidating its digital operation and expanding its presence across channels and multibrand stores in Brazil and abroad, BONNI moves into a physical location with a proposal that connects design, culture and lifestyle in a single narrative.

“We needed a body for our soul. BONNI already had a history, a repertoire and an identity, but it lacked a location that could tell all of that fully. The flagship is that place: a kind of gallery-atelier where our story can be lived, not just seen,” the designer added.

Visiting the BONNI flagship
More than a conventional showroom, the BONNI gallery-atelier invites visitors to experience furniture and lighting in dialogue with architecture. The raw concrete of the Isay Weinfeld building acts as a neutral backdrop, allowing each piece to be seen at real scale and in context, with attention to its forms, materials and construction details.
For architects, interior designers, collectors and retailers, the visit is a way to understand the creative universe behind BONNI and to explore the complete portfolio in a calm, private setting. Because each appointment is individual, the experience can be adapted to the interests of every visitor.
Founded in 2022, BONNI develops furniture and lighting fixtures that balance sophistication, comfort and identity. Bonissato is on the Forbes Under 30 list and won the best design prize at SP-Arte 2025. He was also a finalist for the Elle Deco International Design Awards (Edida) with the Esfera lamp and the Curva chair.
